Holiday Festivities in Currituck

A lot is going on in Currituck County this holiday season. We have list the events happening in the county right here for you to check it out. We have the:

Candlelight Christmas Tours

Date:   Friday’s io December 13, & 20, and Saturday’s on December 14 & 21
Time:  5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Location: 
 Whalehead in Historic Corolla

Step back in time to the 1920’s decor and customs taking place during Mr. and Mrs. Knight’s time in Corolla. Whalehead is beautifully decorated in the tradition of the times with:

  • greenery,
  • Christmas trees,
  • music,
  • luscious food, fruit,
  • candy and nuts.

The tour will feature a live performance on the original one of a kind Steinway piano, custom designed for Mrs. Knight. Tour participants will see 4 floors of this magnificent mansion including the newly designed Starkey room exhibit. Guest will enjoy a holiday beverage and homemade Christmas cookies at the close of the tour.

Our 2019 Candlelight Tour schedule is  December 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Admission is $20.00. Tours are limited and sell out quickly so please be sure to register in advance, 252-453-9040. Tours are non-refundable.


 

New York City Christmas Lights5th Annual New York City Day Trip

Date: Friday & Saturday, December 13 & 14, 2019

​New York, New York!   Currituck County 4-H is sponsoring our 5th annual bus trip to New York City, New York on Friday, December 13  & Saturday, December 14, 2019.  

Proceeds from the trip will directly support Currituck County youth as they participate in County, State, and National level leadership, citizenship, STEM and achievement programs.

You will have a full day on your own to enjoy:

  • shopping,
  • feasting,
  • sightseeing,
  • museums,
  • and shows.

Become part of the hustle and bustle of Times Square, ice skate in Central Park, take in the sights from the top of the Empire State Building, or sing along live to your favorite musical. The fun and possibilities are endless!
