This year’s Currituck Heritage Festival is being held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Currituck County Rural Center in Powells Point. Once again, the festival will have a fun-filled day of events for the whole family. Park gates open at 1:00 p.m. and admission is free between 1:00 p.m & 5:00 p.m. However, some events require tickets to attend.
Kansas City BBQ Competition
Begins at 1:00 p.m. Take a moment to register your famous BBQ or if you like to eat become a judge.
People’s Choice BBQ (ticket required)
Tickets will be available for purchase for $10.00 benefiting Currituck Kids. Sample local pulled pork barbecue and fixin’ recipes from local restaurants and backyard barbecue enthusiasts. Vote for your favorite,
4th Annual Bull-Riding Rodeo (tickets required)
Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and event will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Advanced sale tickets may be purchased until Friday, November 1, 2019, by 4:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center in Moyock.

Handmade and Homegrown Contest
Begins at 3:00 p.m. Contest entries are currently being accepted in the youth and adult divisions for:
- arts & crafts
- baked & canned goods
- homegrown gourds
- and largest pumpkin.
Entry is FREE and monetary prizes will be given to “Best in Show” in all categories.

Corn Hole Tournament
Tournament is FREE. Challenge your friends, your family or complete strangers. Limited to 32 Teams, Single Elimination.
Registration will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the tournament starts at 2:00 p.m..

Currituck County Travel & Tourism Department is partnering with the Currituck Arts Council to host an art contest featuring painting of the county’s heritage during the festival. Entries should be paintings (only) that depict some aspect of Currituck County and our heritage. All Currituck County artists who are interested in participating should call Bryan Bass at 757-390-6390.
Paintings must be submitted at the Moyock Welcome Center by Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Please make sure your contact information is attached to the artwork. If you are interested in selling your artwork, make sure that you include the price and a card where you can be contacted.
Entries will be displayed at the Heritage Festival and ribbons will be presented to winners that day.
