Residents Living On State Maintained Roads

Not certain whether you live on a state maintained road? Check online at North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) State Maintain Roads (enter your address in the search box).

Pick-up Requirements

  • ONLY STORM-RELATED woody debris (trees and branches) will be picked up on the side of state-maintained roads.
  • Cut trees/branches into sections NO longer than 6 foot in length.
  • NO bagged items or other materials will be collected.

Residents Living On Private Roads

Residents who live on private roads, not included in the Debris Pick-up, should take their storm debris to the Transfer Station or convenience centers.

Currituck County has 8 manned Recycling Centers for residential solid waste collection and recycling. Each Convenience Center has the capability to recycle many products.

Transfer Station

The County’s Transfer Station accepts residential and commercial solid waste.

        Saturdays                    8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon)
