The libraries are currently not open, however, Curbside Service is available at all Currituck County Public Libraries, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Spring Storytime for Toddlers and Preschoolers

    Every week from Monday, January 4 to Friday, May 14, 2021 stop by the Barco Library to pick up a Preschool or Toddler Storytime Packet  Preschool packets are for children aged 3 – 5 years and Toddler packets are for children aged 18 months – 3 years. Each packet includes early literacy activities that you can complete at home!

  • “If You Were a Bunny” Easter Activity Packets

    What would you be doing if you were a bunny? Learn all about life as a rabbit and do a bunny craft! Suitable for all ages with grownup assistance. Available Monday, March 22 – Friday, April 2, 2021.

  • Mother’s Day Keepsake Craft

    Whether your person is your mom, your dad, another relative or a wonderful friend, make a special keepsake tile coaster that’s sure to be treasured. Kits are suitable for all ages with grownup help and available for curbside pickup at the Barco Library from Monday, April 5 to Friday, May 7, 2021.   • Summer Reading Program – Tails & Tales!

    During the months of June and July, stop by the Barco Library to pick up Summer Reading activity packets! Summer Reading packets are chock full of adventures, crafts, experiments, and the opportunity to earn prizes for reading! For more information, call the Barco Library at 252-453-8345.

      Study the history of tessellations and M.C. Escher before making several tessellations.
    • April
      Learn about animals that live in North Carolina by creating snakes out of clay, frogs out of leaves, and a hummingbird feeder!
    • May
      Explore symmetry through nature, a kaleidoscope, and mandalas.
  • St. Patrick’s  Day Program

    Participate in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day program by picking up a packet throughout the month of March! Learn neat facts about St. Patrick’s Day as you conduct a rainbow science experiment, paint sun catchers, and create a flying shamrock.

    Adults are invited to learn and create something new with craft kits to complete at home. Each month we will feature a new kit available for pick-up. For more information, call the Moyock Library at 252-435-6419.

      Celebrate National Poetry Month and use your imagination to create a blackout poem with recycled book pages.
    • May
      Use buttons to make a unique card for Mother’s Day or another occasion.
    • June-July
      Participate in the Adult Summer Reading Challenge by picking up a “Choose Your Own Adventure” reading challenges list. For each challenge you finish, you’ll receive a raffle ticket to be entered in a prize drawing.

    Need some help on that stubborn relative that can’t be found? Unsure where to go next in your genealogical journey? Please contact the Moyock Library at 435-6419 for more information and assistance regarding your genealogical research.

  • Genealogy Kits /  Classes

    Remember to pick up our Genealogy “Kid’s Kit”!  The kit includes:

    • a family history booklet
    • family tree charts
    • family member interview questions
    • a family tradition worksheet
    • and more.

    It’s a great way to encourage children to become their very own future family historians.  Bring your completed bingo card back to the library and receive a special surprise!

    For adults, we have an “Introduction to Beginning Genealogy” packet.  Intended for adults who are absolute beginners, this step-by-step guide will get you well on your way to becoming a great genealogist.  The packet includes:

    • practice exercises
    • forms
    • charts to complete.
