The 2021 4-H Youth Gardening program will provide hands-on, informative and imaginative activities for youth of all ages, with new activities each month. This hands-on workshop called Let’s Fire Up the Hydroponics Rack! is a gardening activity for youth ages 10-14, on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. The workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours.
In this interactive workshop, we will learn about a small hydroponics rack, how it works, and how it functions. We will then “fire it up” by doing everything necessary to get it running and insert our plants and grow lights.
Gardening is a healthy, fun activity for children! Young people that participate in gardening activities:
- develop new skills,
- learn about science and nature,
- learn about where their food comes from,
- and expand their creativity and imagination.
This is a FREE workshop and all materials will be provided to registered participants. This event will be at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension – Currituck Center.
Be sure to check out online learning opportunities offered by NC Cooperative Extension in Currituck by visiting our website at currituck.ces.ncsu.edu.
Currently, in-person classes require masks to be worn for the duration of the class without exception. If you arrive without a mask one will be provided for you. We ask all participants to maintain 6 feet of distance while on the premises. Cooperative Extension is following the current North Carolina mandates.
If you are not able meet these requirements, or if you need accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Billy Caudle at 252-232-2261 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 10 business days prior to class.
