The Under the Oaks Art Festival is a 2 day outdoor art show with a variety of Fine and Wildlife artists on the sweeping waterfront grounds of Historic Corolla Park at Whalehead. 100 year old Live Oaks, open green lawns and casual breezes from the Currituck Sound make for a perfect location. This festival features the unique talents of over 50 quality artists with a wide variety of media plus local food concessions, and a silent art auction that benefits Whalehead.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Whalehead was the 1920s residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Collings Knight, Jr., a 21,000-square-foot “mansion by the sea”.
On Wednesday, June 19, the event will feature a local wine and beer festival with live music from The Acoustic Legend, Chris Perkinson.
