Sheriff’s Youth Club
NOTE: All 2018 summer camps are FULL at this time and we are no longer accepting applications for summer camps. The sheriff’s youth club is accepting applications for the fall, winter and spring sheriff’s youth club. More info to come about the year long sheriffs youth club.
Shortly after Sheriff Matthew W. Beickert took office in June 2018 he issues his Sheriff’s Youth Club mission statement which outlines his commitment to creating a year-long program that will include weekly mentoring meetings and summer camps. During spring, fall and winter, the mentorship meetings will take place after school between the School Resource Officers and club participants.
Campers will be assigned to a summer camp based on their current grade level they’ve completed at the time their application is submitted. Students who’ve completed 6th-8th grade should apply for the middle school summer camp and students who’ve completed 9th-12th grade should apply for the high school summer camp.
The first meetings of the Sheriff’s Youth Club will begin with 3 Summer Camps:
- June 18 to June 21
Focus: leadership and mentor development for a small group of high school aged students

- July 9 to July 19
Focus: 9th-12th grade high school students
High School Summer Camp Schedule
- August 6 to August 16
Focus: 6th-8th grade middle school students
Middle School Summer Camp Schedule
The summer camps are held at Currituck County High School, Room A47 (Health Class). Summer camps will meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Students can be dropped off at 8:30 a.m. and picked up at 3:30 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Currituck County Sheriff’s office is no longer accepting Applications. Space is limited and participants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. There is NO fee and the program is open to all Currituck County youth.
Also, during the summer of 2018 our SRO’s will be helping the Currituck YMCA with their 3rd-5th grade summer camp from June 25 – July 6. Visit Currituck YMCA’s summer camps for more information.
