Currituck Continues Mosquito Spraying

Notice: Weather conditions may prevent mosquito spraying in Corolla on the evening of Wednesday, October 18.  Spraying may not be conducted before or during a rainstorm due to spray chemicals mixing with stormwater runoff.

Currituck will assess the weather outlook on Thursday, October 19 to determine when additional spraying for mosquitoes will continue. A schedule will be made to include all parts of Currituck County not yet reached in this round of spraying.

Currituck County will begin another round of spraying for mosquitoes on Friday, October 14, 2011, weather permitting. Spraying will be done with a truck sprayer in either the early morning or evening/night hours.

Note: All planned dates of mosquito spraying will be completed as weather permits. The truck sprayer will not operate:
  • if winds are in excess of 8 mph
  • and/or it is raining
  • foggy
  • temperatures below 55 degrees
  • and during the heat of the day.
