Operational Overview
The Communication Center has three dispatch positions and is responsible for the call taking and dispatching of all emergency and non emergency calls for service for law enforcement, fire, EMS, as well as numerous other servicing agencies. Each dispatch position is identical. All telephone and radio traffic is recorded as required.

Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD):
ProQA Emergency Dispatch Software Program integrates the power of the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch Protocols with today's critical computer technologies. ProQA is designed to assist dispatchers in quickly determining the appropriate response determinant code for each case and can be programmed to clearly display the response configuration. ProQA then guides dispatchers in providing all relevant Post-Dispatch and Pre-Arrival Instructions, as well as important case completion information.
Automatic Number Identifier/Automatic Location Identifier (ANI/ALI):
Positron Life 100 provides our E-9-1-1 telephone system with a totally redundant ANI/ALI controller. Currently, it is the only "truly" redundant system on the market.
Positron Simon Phones:
Positron Life 100 provides enables us to use Simon Phone technology. Simon Phones have TTY, VCO and HCO functionality. Our dispatchers are trained to treat every call as an emergency until proven otherwise, including "silent calls". Our Center receives several "unplanned" silent TTY test calls a month to ensure each dispatcher knows how to promptly respond to a call TTY call.

Carolina Recording Systems:
Each CAD workstation is equipped with Audiolog Instant Recall Playback. This allows the dispatcher to instantly playback incoming or outgoing radio traffic or phone conversations.
